Jamaica, the third largest Caribbean Island, is home to some of the best beaches that can be found anywhere in the world. These beaches can be found along the north and south coasts of the island and each beach has its own personality.

One of the most famous beaches is the Seven Mile Beach located in Negril, Westmoreland. This beach has 7 miles of beautiful white sands and is beaming with life. A wide variety of restaurants, snack vendors and live entertainment can be found on the beach. Doctor’s Cave Beach is another pristine beach that is located in Montego Bay, St. James.

This beach lies along Montego Bay’s famous Hip Strip and is the most popular beach in Jamaica’s second city. Although the beach is small, it makes up for it with its beauty. Highlights include getting to see 747s and other aircraft descend towards the Sangster International Airport. Another of Jamaica’s finest beaches is Boston Bay Beach. This beach is located in Boston Bay, Portland and is known for its waves, making it perfect for beginner surfers.

This beach stretches along several low-budget hotels and is generally uncrowded from both vendors and tourists. The Boston Bay Jerk Center can be found nearby which serves some of the best jerk pork and chicken on the entire island. Finally, located on the South Coast of the island in Treasure Beach is Calabash Bay Beach. This beach can be found near the well-known Jake’s hotel and is perfect for its quietness and seclusion. Nearby, you’ll be able to find Jack Sprat, which serves a wide assortment of seafood such as shrimp, lobster and fish. Other pristine beaches in Jamaica include the Mammee Bay beach, located in Ocho Rios, St. Ann and Cornwall Beach, located in Montego Bay. All of these beaches are perfect for visitors looking to take a break and enjoy the peace and tranquility of the Caribbean sea.
